News

Welcome to "Surround", the newsletter from the Scottish Golf Environment Group.

Through "Surround" we will try to keep you updated on what is happening with regard to golf and the environment in Scotland and beyond. We also want you to contribute to the contents, either by sending us details of projects you have been involved in, or by giving us ideas for issues you would like to see covered.

We want the contents of the newsletter to focus on what Clubs and Local Authorities in Scotland are doing for the environment. We will also use it to highlight key issues and how you can address them. Specific issues we are sure to cover will include sources of funding for environmental / golf course improvements, coastal erosion, tree planting and woodland management, integrated turf management, conservation of parklands and designed landscapes, heather management and much more. Each edition we will feature a 'Club in Focus', analysing practical projects from different courses.

We also want to hear from you. The newsletter should be a means for you to get your views aired and heard by others. What are your thoughts on golf and the environment, how are you involved, what advice have you got for others? Please email us at info@sgeg.org.uk and we will add your ideas to the newsletter.

We hope you enjoy this edition, and look forward to receiving your contributions in the future.
